I'm a strong believer in doing your homework BEFORE you buy any product... especially an internet marketing product. That's why I've put together is special section of my website dedicated to internet marketing reviews. Here's a little something that you may not know about most of the internet marketing reviews that you find online... they are prewritten by affiliate marketing managers! That's right! It is a very common practice for affiliate program managers to prewrite positive reviews of their product (or pay someone to write a positive review) and make them available to their affiliates. Many affiliates then post the candy coated reviews offered by the affiliate program to their website along with their affiliate link. It's all a ploy to generate affiliate revenue with the review... prewritten reviews are not genuine reviews of the product!

Whenever you write any sort of content, one of your main goals is to build rapport with your target audience. Rapport building strategies can come in all kinds of forms, like infusing your content with personality, telling jokes, and appealing to emotions, but the easiest way of building rapport with your target audience is through offering value. Not only are you building rapport through value, but you are also using one of the best preselling methods available. Giving your visitors something of value is the ultimate pre-seller, regardless of the format. Not only does it build rapport, it also warms them up and puts them in a ready to buy frame of mind.

In affiliate marketing, there are lots of ways to increase your earnings and one of the most important ways to increase your affiliate marketing bottom line is through the use of product recommendations. After all, if customers trust you and you've built rapport with them, then they will also trust your recommendations.

I'm absolutely sure that you've heard the phrase Content is King. Well, if content is King, then pre-selling is even more important. It's kind of like the Emperor or Pharaoh of content because preselling is crucial to making money with your content. Without acquiring the skill of pre-selling, writing content is a waste of time for the internet business. After all, we all write content so that we can gain traffic and earn revenue in one form or another. Pre-selling is really your major ticket to earning revenue from your content.

What is Pre-Selling? I have to admit that I first heard the term preselling many years ago from Ken Evoy and it immediately clicked with me... it just made sense. After all, preselling has been the lifeblood of marketing for decades... it's what divides the successful marketer from the marketer struggling to make ends meet.

I've always been a big fan of swipe files. It's taken me over 10 years to develop a reasonable collection of swipe files to help me with my copywriting. For years I've collected direct marketing pieces, online sales letters, autoresponder messages, etc. that I thought were particularly effective. I have dozens of file folders full of hundreds of pieces... and I drag it all out and spread it all over the living room and my office when I need to get a little copywriting inspiration. That's why I had to Review My Instant Swipe File And Why I Can't Wait to Write My Next Sales Letter Now!

We've talked about why large product launches can be a complete waste of your time, especially if you approach them with the generic tools and email messages offered by most affiliate programs. Now let's talk about how you can maximize your profit potential when new affiliate products are launched.

Ever receive 10 or 15 email messages on the same day about the same product launch? If you have, then you probably noticed that all the messages were from affiliates who

How to turn features into benefits, why you should avoid boiler plate reviews, and how MWR can help you keep the focus of your business are just a few of the subjects that we'll talk about in this latest issue of Marketing Watch.

It's easy to lose your focus when you're developing your site. You start writing your content -- one idea leads to another, and then another. Your excitement builds, and before you know it you've run your website goals into a ditch. I've done it before -- most experienced internet entrepreneurs have. Losing focus costs you a lot of time. You spend a lot of time engaging in activities that aren't directly related to your website goals. Then the lightbulb goes on and you realize that you've lost your focus. Now you have to direct all your energy to trying to correct the content you've already written and re-focus it. You can avoid wasting all that time, energy, and money if you simply remember your most wanted response.

I was getting ready to write a review for a particular marketing product and decided to do a search for other reviews first. I was curious to see what other people thought of the product. When I searched Google, I found four full pages of reviews. Although a little surprised, I still wanted to check them out to see how many were genuine reviews and how many were simply ploys by affiliates to sell the product. In other words, how many affiliates would write glowing reviews for the product just so that they could recommend the product?

There's nothing like a well ordered list of product benefits to put the pop into a salesletter. Benefits are what give a salesletter its emotion appeal and close the sale... but this is something that even seasoned copywriters get wrong sometimes by using features instead of benefits. Let's talk about the difference between benefits and features and then I'll show you how to turn a feature into a benefit.

Keyword Density and how it relates to webpages, articles, SEO, etc. is one of those *sneaky* little things that everyone needs to know about... especially if you're trying to get indexed in search engines. No discussion about keyword density can take place without defining a few of the terms and how each affects your search engine rankings.

About Me

Hi Chris, I just finished reading your "How To Make Your Article..." Excellent. One question re SEO. Do I focus only ONE keyword per artcile? How many times should it appear and where? I'm assuming more in the opening paragraph and title? How many hyperlinks should I have on the keyword? Should my bio be unique to the keyword? That would result in LOTS of different bios... ---------- Excellent questions! When I write articles, I usually choose just one keyword per article. You can try more than one, but I wouldn't do more than two or three. If you choose too many keywords, it makes it really difficult to get the keyword density right and also write a readable article. Remember, write for people first and search engines second. When it comes to where those keywords should appear and how many times, everyone has their own opinion. I don't claim to be an seo expert by any stretch of the imagination. Because seo rules and algorithms so frequently, I choose to use a more general tactic that will serve me well regardless of the changes. I go for overall keyword density rather than specific keyword locations with one exception... I always put my keyword within the first sentence of the first paragraph -- usually within the first four or five words. As you mentioned, I also put my keyword in my title. As far as hyperlinks go, I try to hyperlink my keyword once or twice. If you have too many hyperlinks then article directories and your targeted readers will find it irritating. Usually, my only hyperlinks are within the resource box at the end of the article. I try to make those keyword hyperlinks whenever possible. In answer to your question, I do use slightly different resource boxes with each article because I include the entire resource box when I test my article's keyword density. Hopefully that tackled all your questions... Let me know if you need more information.

I'm really surprised at how much attention this review has gotten from those who've been exposed to the product/owner and from those associated with the product. My only intention in writing the review was to warn others of the experience that I had with this product. Since posting the review, I've been contacted by dozens of people who have had a similar experience. Unfortunately, I've also been threatened with a lawsuit over the review. I don't think I've done anything wrong in stating my opinion. In addition, I've also posted the email responses that I received with regards to my original purchase. Some have suggested that this is inappropriate... but I think it speaks to the validity of my opinion and experience. Email messages become public record as soon as you hit the "send" button because they can easily be intercepted. Therefore there is no expectation of privacy when email is used. Perhaps I've just made too much of this whole thing... you be the judge.

Okay, now I've finally gotten the whole blog started and I have a somewhat mixed review. First of all, I really like that SBI takes each page I add to this site and automatically includes it in the xml feed and pings it. That's totally awesome and a great time saver! But this thing isn't a exactly an intuitive interface. First of all, I didn't realize that it uses my page meta descriptions as the descriptions for each blog entry... it kind of looks ugly now, but it will work out eventually. Also, it you update a page on the site and re-load it, it will appear in the blog unless you specifically ask it not to (which I forgot). All in all, I think the whole automation thing makes up for any shortcomings, but we'll see how it all shakes out in time.

When it comes to a discussion of an email swipe file, we are definitely NOT talking about spam or any other unsolicited bulk email. For the most part, email marketing involves autoresponders. An effective autoresponder marketing campaign can greatly increase your bottom line... if you do it right.

Writing good sales letters is crucial to any business and a good reason why you should creat a sales letter swipe file. Sales letters become necessary whenever you are trying to sell your product or service, but good copy is important for a lot of other purposes like brochures, newsletter subscriptions, pre-selling pieces, affiliate marketing pieces, etc. Ultimately, you either have to learn how to write your own copy, hire someone to write it for you, or use a software program to generate your sales material. Creating a sales letter swipe file will help you on your way to actually learning to write your own copy, but you can also benefit greatly from sales letter software. There are currently four main software programs on the market worth mentioning

Resource boxes are the most important component in any article you write for promotion... That's why I've included this resource box swipe file. Most people do their resource boxes completely wrong or forget to do them at all.
